Volunteer Opportunities

Twin Cities Pet Rescue is a small animal rescue organization that is predominantly run by dedicated volunteers. Volunteering with TCPR is a rewarding experience because your volunteer work directly helps animals in need. We are looking for some amazing individuals to join our team! LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

Home Visit Admin

Our Home Visit Admin will review incoming applications for foster and adoptive homes and work with our team of Home Visit Volunteers to connect applicants with a qualified volunteer to conduct a virtual home visit.  Home visits are an important part of meeting prospective families to ensure our animals have a safe and loved landing spot or forever home.  This is a virtual opportunity, and training will be provided.

Veterinary Records Manager

The Veterinary Records Manager will support TCPR’s mission by ensuring all animals receive our standard veterinary care, as well as any specialized care recommended, prior to adoption. Successful candidates will be very organized and should be comfortable working with a virtual team, making veterinary appointments, and entering records.  A friendly customer service attitude and strong attention to detail is needed!

SUPPORT POSITIONS

Supplies Delivery Volunteers

We are seeking Supplies Delivery volunteers to distribute pet supplies for our foster animals to four hubs in the TC metro area.  You will be responsible for a once monthly supply distribution assignment, starting at our storage facility in Oakdale and delivering requested supplies to our Maplewood, North Loop, Nokomis, and Bloomington supply hubs.  Reliable transportation and the ability to lift 50 pounds is necessary.

Home Visit Volunteers

We are seeking Home Visit volunteers to help us ensure a safe, healthy, and appropriate environment for TCPR animals in their foster and adoptive homes. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all home visits are being conducted virtually.  Computer or smartphone with reliable internet and comfort using video meeting software is needed.  No experience necessary. Training will be provided.

Special Events Volunteers

Our Special Events Team plans and hosts a number of fundraising and adoption events each month. As a Special Events volunteer, you will become an ambassador for TCPR as a day-of event point of contact and will be responsible for set-up, tear down, and event participation. Special Events volunteers should have strong verbal communication skills to educate the public about TCPR’s organizational goals, campaigns, and mission. Special Events Team members can also get involved by assisting team leads in the planning of events.

Graphic Design Volunteers

Help us engage the community by creating visually appealing and dynamic graphics to feature adoptable pets and promote special events. Graphic Design volunteers will work with the Social Media Manager and Marketing Coordinator. This is a remote position. Online Content Volunteers

We are seeking Online Content Coordinators to research and create engaging content for our social media accounts and blog. Topics will be related to companion animal care, training, and health, as aligned with TCPR’s philosophies and mission, and may be geared toward a specific online platform. Creativity, strong writing skills, and attention to detail are required. This is a remote position.

DOG TEAM POSITIONS

Dog Team Admin

TCPR relies on email communication to stay in contact with foster and adoptive families. We are looking for a reliable virtual admin volunteer to join our Dog Team.  This volunteer will help monitor a shared inbox and provide basic support to foster homes via email.  Successful volunteers in the role will be able to dedicate 30-60 minutes per day monitoring the inbox.

Dog Foster Coordinator

All TCPR animals live in loving foster homes as they prepare for adoption.  The Dog Foster Coordinator will help match incoming rescue dogs with an open foster home in our network. Successful volunteers in this role will build relationships with foster homes to help determine the best placement for foster dogs as they await their forever homes.  This role is predominantly remote; however, you may be asked to participate in in-person activities as animals arrive into rescue.

Dog Fosters

We are always seeking foster homes for our adoptable dogs. We can only take in as many animals as we have homes for. We will work to make an appropriate match given your preferences and lifestyle. Fosters especially needed who are comfortable providing a home for animals with behavioral or medical needs. Training, support, and supplies are provided. Learn more about how to foster here. CAT TEAM POSITIONS

Cat Team Admin

TCPR relies on email communication to stay in contact with foster and adoptive families. We are looking for a reliable virtual admin volunteer to join our Cat Team.  This volunteer will help monitor a shared inbox and provide basic support to foster homes via email.  Successful volunteers in the role will be able to dedicate 30-60 minutes per day monitoring the inbox.

Cat Foster Coordinator

Join our TCPR Cat Team and help cats in need find a place to crash while awaiting their forever home. Foster Cat Coordinators will recruit and educate cat fosters, process cat foster applications, schedule home visits, and match cats coming into rescue with an open foster home. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills. Most of this position can be completed remotely; however, applicants should live in the Twin Cities area to participate in team and leadership meetings.
