CANS for Cats & Canines (Facebook App).png

Bring your empty aluminum and other metal cans to TCPR’s office and help raise money for animals in rescue while also recycling!

HOW TO HELP

Check out the steps below for information on how recycling cans can help dogs and cats in need and some of the common questions we get.

Still have questions? Send us an email to office@twincitiespetrescue.org

STEP 1

Collect Cans

TCPR can accept most types of household cans including aluminum drink cans, soup cans, cat/dog food cans, etc.

To get started, place empty cans into a container or bag. Cans be crushed or uncrushed. If possible please rinse non-drink cans out. Sorting cans by drink cans vs everything else is also extremely helpful but not required!

STEP 2

Prepare Cans for Transport

Cans can be brought to TCPR in a variety of containers. We aren't picky! But here is a couple things to rememeber:

  • Aluminum drink cans be dumped directly into our can trailer. So you do not need to leave them bagged/contained.

  • All other cans or mixtures of aluminium drink cans and other cans should be brought in "containers" that they can be left in. This is typically plastic or paper bags or carboard boxes.

STEP 3

Drop Cans Off at TCPR Office

Head to TCPR's office located at 1983 Sloan Pl Suite 16 Maplewood, MN 55117. You'll see our can trailer parked in front of our office with a sign that says "CANS ONLY" on the front.

If your cans are sorted, please place the drink cans inside the can trailer and the non-drink cans in the metal rolling bin directly next to the can trailer. Cans can be added into our trailer by stepping onto the front of the trailer and then dumping the cans in the opening at the top.

If your cans are not sorted or you are unable to get them into the top of the trailer, please place them in the metal rolling bin directly next to the trailer. We will sort them and place the drink cans in the trailer!
