Happy Tails

Pixie

Today our Happy Tail Tuesday featured pet is Pixie (formerly Peekaboo). Here is what Pixie’s family has to say about her “From the day I saw Peekaboo’s (now Pixie’s) sweet one eyed face on Facebook; I knew she had to be a part of our family. We weren’t able to adopt her right away, so we fostered her until she became healthy enough to adopt.

20150121_220859We got her the day before Thanksgiving, and she had just had surgery that day to remove 5 teeth. Since then she has had 2 other surgeries on her stomach to repair 2 hernias (one that would have eventually killed her) and some unexplained wounds on her belly that continually drained. Through all of this, she has been a very happy, sweet little dog who enjoys everyone she meets and going for rides in the car. She loves to be outside even in the cold weather, loves being with the family and playing with her step brother Kaiser (another Pom) and older step sister Daisy who is almost 15. She enjoys walks and is very inquisitive of everything. I can see how she may have become a stray, because I think she would keep going if she weren’t on a leash.

In the 3 months that she has lived with us, she makes me smile every day. We named her Pixie primarily because of her size, but we are finding that it also fits her personality – playful and a bit mischievous. I think her strong personality is what helped her to survive whatever adversity she faced before being rescued by TCPR.

20150208_095805We are very happy that she is now a part of our family, and she has found her “furever” home.”

Thank you so much to Pixie’s family for the love and compassion they have shown this wonderful little dog!
